SATURDAY, explore exhibits such as AFRAM's Exhibition Tent where you can see and play one-of-a-kind musical instruments,
all constructed of recycled materials - all created by the festival's resident artist, Errol Sobers. Later, swing to the sounds of BEST KEPT SOUL Band.
The ADINKRA symbol at left is identified as "UMOJA", which is the theme for this year and is taken from the seven principles of Kwanzaa. "UMOJA" means "UNITY".
The Eastern Shore AFRAM festival is an annual African American cultural festival which celebrates and shares a variety of traditional arts, cultures, and stories from across the African Diaspora with the whole community of Delmarva, and with a multitude of visitors from across the Mid Atlantic - and beyond. Cultural and community enrichment from the African American perspective, often includes elements derived directly from African and Pan African traditions; Music & Arts (including crafts), Education (including Oral history and storytelling), Humor, Faith, and of course Great Food.
