KEYNOTE SPEAKER: DR. SHAWN JOSEPH; Seaford School District Superintendant, Educator, and Author

Dr. Shawn Joseph's passion for educating children and adults has led him to serve in a number of positions in the world of education. He has been an English teacher, reading specialist, team leader, assistant principal, principal, and a central office administrator. In 2009, Dr. Joseph was honored by his peers as the National Association of Secondary School Administrator’s Met-Life Middle School Principal of the Year for the State of Maryland...

Dr. Joseph is currently the Superintendent of the Seaford School District in Seaford, Delaware. Until recently, he was the Director of School Performance at Montgomery County Public Schools. Dr. Joseph is also an adjunct professor for The George Washington University and McDaniel College. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, a Masters in Education from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctorate in Education from The George Washington University. 2013 MLK Community Recognition Award:

John Hollis is currently the Sussex Manager of Community & Government Affairs and also a lobbyist for Nemours Health and Prevention Services. He formerly served as Sr. Vice President for the Delaware Community Foundation and Sr. Vice President for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware. Mr. Hollis has also served as Director of Personnel for Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus. Prior to that, he served as Personnel Director/Counselor/Teacher and Coach with the Seaford School District for 30 years.

Mr. Hollis has a master’s degree with a concentration in counseling from Salisbury State University. He is a frequent speaker at commencements, banquets, workshops and conventions on topics of motivation and self-esteem and conducts seminars on leadership and fundraising. READ MORE
