and a Dresser for Wayne Industries in Salisbury, MD for numerous years.  Recently, she took care of her mother with Alzheimer’s until her passing in February 2007.
She enjoys her membership at Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church where the Holy Ghost reins supreme.  Her current pastor is the lovely Idola J. Batson.  Ruth shows her committment to her church as a Youth Choir director, Teen Sunday School teacher, member of the Homecoming Choir and Head chef of the Culinary Committee.

Her hobbies include catering, sewing, enjoying the grandchildren and arts & crafts.  Most importantly, she helps everyone in the community in one way or another.  The primary meeting spot is her house in Concord, where she can whip up a hearty and delicious meal.  She always says, “If you go home hungry, it’s your own fault.” All are always welcome.

Her favorite scripture is “I will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continually be in my mouth.

Calvary A.M.E. Church with Otelia Oliver. All students involved maintained B’s or better.  Since then, she has passed the torch to her daughter, Jean. Through the years, Mrs. Briggs has filled many occupations, including 11 years as a buyer at Peebles Department Store in Seaford, an Air Traffic Controller at Georgetown Air Port for 6 years,
